Delhi Metro Phase 5A Approved
The Delhi Metro is getting bigger and better!
The government has approved a new plan called Phase 5A.
This plan will add three new metro lines that are 16.076 kilometers long in total.
One of these lines will connect R.K. Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, another will go from Aerocity to IGI Airport Terminal 1, and the third will run from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj.
The most exciting part is that the Central Secretariat Metro station will become a special station where you can easily switch between three different metro lines.
This will make traveling around Delhi much faster and more convenient.
The new lines are expected to make it easier for people to get around the city and the nearby areas.
Around 60,000 office goers and 2 lakh visitors will benefit daily, reducing pollution and fossil fuel usage.
Currently, there are 29 interchange stations, which will increase to 46 after Phase 5A.
Delhi Metro Phase 5A approved by the Union Cabinet on December 24, 2025.
Three new corridors totaling 16.076 km to be constructed.
