CPI(M) Demands Rule of Law Amid Bengal Political Attacks

The CPI(M) said its workers and offices in West Bengal had been attacked.

Its leader Mohammed Salim blamed the BJP, RSS and Bajrang Dal.

He asked the state government to protect people and uphold the law.

Another CPI(M) leader said the BJP was trying to frighten its opponents.

The BJP rejected these accusations.

BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya said the incidents came from a disagreement inside the TMC.

He said BJP members were not involved.

Both sides gave different explanations for the reported violence.
