Maharashtra FDA suspends Otters Club licence amid Mumbai violations

Maharashtra’s food safety agency inspected several food businesses in Mumbai.

The inspections were part of a drive to check food quality and cleanliness.

Otters Club in Bandra was inspected after someone complained about poor hygiene.

Inspectors found a product called analogue paneer there.

One FDA official said they could not confirm whether Otters Club was using it.

However, an FDA release said the product was being used as Regular Paneer.

The agency suspended six food licences and issued improvement notices to six establishments.

Other businesses named in the action included Daily Fresh Bakers, Prince of Wales Restaurant, Cafe Sifarish and Zepto Limited.

No food licence was cancelled.
