Delhi Faces Severe Air Pollution
Delhi is experiencing very bad air quality, which is making it hard for people to breathe.
The air quality index (AQI) is very high, reaching levels that are considered severe.
Some areas in Delhi have AQI levels as high as 445, which is dangerous for health.
The cold weather and fog are making the pollution worse by trapping the dirty air close to the ground.
The government is taking steps to control the pollution, like stopping certain construction and industrial activities.
They have also made some rules permanent, like not allowing vehicles without pollution control certificates to get fuel.
The government is also working on cleaning up water bodies and setting up a special park for electronic waste to help reduce pollution.
Delhi's air quality reached severe levels with an overall AQI of 391.
Anand Vihar recorded the highest AQI of 445, indicating severe pollution.
Cold weather and dense fog are trapping pollutants, worsening air quality.
Stage IV measures under GRAP, including restrictions on construction and industrial activities, are in place.
Two GRAP curbs made permanent: no petrol without PUCC and no BS6 vehicles allowed.
