Trinamool Congress infighting erupts in North Dinajpur
In North Dinajpur district, some members of the Trinamool Congress party are upset with their local leader, Gautam Pal, who is the MLA for Karandighi.
They put up posters asking for him to be replaced.
The posters show pictures of important party leaders and say that the people's choice should be respected.
The party is now investigating who put up these posters.
One member, Sefat Ali, says Pal is not a good representative, while the party president says Ali might be working with the opposing BJP party.
The current MLA, Pal, is not commenting on the issue.
Posters demanding the replacement of Trinamool Congress MLA Gautam Pal appeared in several areas of North Dinajpur district.
The posters were allegedly put up by a faction of the party, including local panchayat samiti member Sefat Ali.
Ali claims Pal does not have a clean image and is not a 'son of the soil', while party president Subhash Sinha alleges Ali has links with the BJP.
The party has started an investigation into the matter, with district president Kanaiyalal Agarwala stating that such actions will not be tolerated.
MLA Gautam Pal declined to comment on the issue, stating he was busy attending a birthday party.
