Jaishankar Meets Pilgrims Rescued From Nepal Flash Floods

Twenty-one pilgrims from Tamil Nadu were visiting Nepal for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Flash floods suddenly made the area very dangerous.

The Nepal Army rescued the pilgrims and took them to Kathmandu.

The Indian Embassy then helped them travel home.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met them at the Delhi airport and heard what happened.

The pilgrims thanked the Nepal Army for saving them.

About 85 Indians had been rescued, but around 315 to 320 were still difficult to contact.

India offered Nepal rescue experts, bridges, medical teams and other help.

Rescue workers were also searching for people after the floods killed at least 547 people.
