Eight Candidates Challenge BMC Nomination Rejection
Eight people who wanted to run in the Mumbai city elections say their papers were not accepted.
They think the person in charge, who is also a big politician, told the election officers not to accept their forms.
They went to a big court to say this is not fair and they want their forms to be accepted.
The election is happening soon, on January 15, and these people are running in a part of the city called Colaba.
They say they did everything right and even paid money to be in the election, but they were still not allowed.
Eight candidates filed a petition in the Bombay High Court alleging their nomination forms were rejected.
They claim Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar interfered in the process.
The candidates are running in wards 224 to 227 in Colaba, South Mumbai.
They allege Narwekar misused his political power to prevent their nominations.
The BMC elections are scheduled for January 15.
