SEBI Seeks Clarifications Before Deciding on NSE IPO

The National Stock Exchange wants to sell shares to the public through an IPO.

SEBI, the market regulator, has reviewed NSE’s IPO papers and asked for more explanations.

NSE and its bankers must answer these questions before SEBI decides whether to approve the plan.

The proposed sale could include up to 148.9 million existing shares.

Because it is only an offer-for-sale, NSE itself would not receive money from the sale.

The money would go to shareholders who sell their shares.

NSE’s listing plans have been delayed for nearly a decade because of regulatory cases.

The process now appears closer to a decision, but approval has not yet been given.
