Kenton Cool Sets Non-Sherpa Everest Ascent Record
A British climber named Kenton Cool climbed Mount Everest for the 19th time!
That's a lot of climbing, and it's the most times anyone who isn't a Sherpa has climbed the mountain.
He reached the top with a Sherpa guide, Dorji Gyaljen, who has climbed Everest 23 times.
Cool started climbing Everest in 2004 and has gone back almost every year since.
Other climbers are impressed with Cool's skills.
However, it's important to remember that climbing Everest is still dangerous, and two climbers died on the mountain the same week.
Kenton Cool, a British mountaineer, achieved his 19th ascent of Mount Everest, setting a new record for non-Sherpas.
The ascent occurred on Sunday at 11:00 local time, marking a significant milestone for Cool.
Cool was accompanied by Nepali Sherpa Dorji Gyaljen, who reached the summit for the 23rd time.
Cool's accomplishment was lauded by fellow mountaineers, who praised his professionalism and leadership.
This achievement occurred during a week where two climbers died on the mountain, highlighting its dangers.
