Kerala Helicopter Controversy Highlights Political Paradox

Kerala Helicopter Controversy Highlights Political Paradox

Kerala has a helicopter that the government can use for emergencies like floods or disasters.

The chief minister, V.D. Satheesan, used it to go to Kochi, which caused a fight between two political parties.

The Congress says it was an official trip and he also visited his sick father‑in‑law.

The CPI(M) says it was wrong to use an emergency helicopter for a normal trip, especially when many people were dealing with floods.

This shows a pattern in Kerala politics where the same thing can be praised or criticized depending on which party is in charge.

A former chief minister, Oommen Chandy, once said that in Kerala, people care more about who is doing something than what they are doing.

That idea is still true today.
