IndiaOne Air to Stop Cooch Behar Flights
IndiaOne Air, which runs flights between Calcutta and Cooch Behar, has decided to stop its services from January 31, 2026.
The airline started this service in February 2023 under a government scheme called UDAN, which helps connect smaller cities by air.
The service was supposed to run until February 2026, but the airline chose to end it early.
Many people in Cooch Behar are sad because the flights were very popular and made traveling to Calcutta much faster.
Now, they will have to use trains and buses again.
The business community is asking the government to find a new airline to keep the flight service running.
IndiaOne Air will terminate its flight service from Cooch Behar to Calcutta on January 31, 2026.
The airline cited operational reasons for the early termination of its three-year contract under the UDAN scheme.
The service started on February 21, 2023, with a nine-seater aircraft operating daily.
Residents of Cooch Behar are disappointed as the flights were popular and reduced travel time to Calcutta to just one hour.
The business community is urging the state and central governments to find a new airline to continue the service.
