Naidu Announces ₹169 Crore Aid for Veligonda Displaced Families

The Veligonda project displaced many families from their homes.

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced another ₹169 crore to help eligible people.

Each person who qualifies will receive ₹2 lakh.

This includes some young people who became adults after the earlier 2019 deadline.

Officials will check whether anyone was accidentally left out of official records or payments.

The government reviewed nearly 1,800 complaints from affected families.

So far, 7,027 families have received ₹905 crore in rehabilitation assistance.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also ordered officials to give displaced families enough ration supplies for one month.

He said the project’s first phase was being inaugurated and discussed future water and local-election plans.
