Dharwad Mango Mela: Sales Dip, Price Concerns, and Future Plans
Every year, Dharwad holds a Mango Mela where farmers sell mangoes.
This year, they sold over 53 tonnes of mangoes and made about 70 lakh rupees.
However, sales were lower than last year.
This was because of rain and high prices.
Some people thought the prices were too high because they weren't set by the government like they were in the past.
Next year, the Mela will be a week long.
Dharwad's five-day Mango Mela sold over 53 tonnes of mangoes, generating approximately Rs 70 lakh.
The Mela aimed to help growers and offer consumers chemical-free fruit.
Sales were lower than the previous year, which reached 90 tonnes and Rs 1 crore revenue, due to rain and unregulated prices.
Consumers reported high prices, with 'A' grade mangoes selling at Rs 500 per dozen.
The Horticulture Department plans a week-long Mela next year due to grower feedback.
