Telangana Police and Yugantar Partner for LGBTQIA+ Support
The Telangana police are teaming up with a non-profit called Yugantar to help LGBTQIA+ people.
This means they'll offer support through the Pride Place Transgender Persons Protection Cell.
They will help people in emergencies, give them legal advice, and provide mental health support.
They will also teach police officers how to better assist and support the LGBTQIA+ community.
Yugantar will also share its knowledge and resources through its wellness center in Hyderabad to help individuals in need.
Telangana Police's Women Safety Wing (WSW) partnered with Yugantar to support LGBTQIA+ persons.
The partnership aims to strengthen services under the Pride Place Transgender Persons Protection Cell.
The MoU will provide crisis intervention, legal aid, and mental health support.
Training for police personnel and public awareness initiatives will also be included.
