Sachs: Countries Commit to Climate Action Despite Trump
At a recent event, a U.N. advisor named Jeffrey Sachs said that other countries aren't changing their plans to help the environment, even though Trump has said climate change isn't real.
Sachs pointed out that renewable energy is becoming cheaper, which goes against what Trump said about fossil fuels being better.
Sachs believes that despite Trump's views, many countries are still focused on reducing emissions.
He also mentioned the need for institutions like the World Bank to make loans easier.
U.S. President Trump called climate change the "greatest con job."
Jeffrey Sachs stated Trump's comments haven't affected other countries' climate commitments.
Sachs mentioned renewable energy costs are decreasing, a contrast to Trump's views.
Sachs supports reform in institutions such as the World Bank.
The next round of global climate talks will be in Brazil.
