Mumbai's WR to trial 18-coach local trains
The Western Railway in Mumbai is going to test new, longer local trains with 18 coaches.
Right now, most trains have 12 coaches, and some have 15.
These tests will check how quickly the new trains can stop in an emergency and how strong the connections between the coaches are.
The tests will happen on the Virar-Dahanu Road route in January.
The new trains will have different electrical systems made by two different companies.
These tests are important to make sure the new trains are safe before they start carrying passengers.
