Karnataka CM Condemns 'Shuddhikaran' at Kharge Rally Venue

A leader in India named Mr. Shivakumar is very upset.

He is the Chief Minister of a state called Karnataka.

Some people did a special cleaning ceremony at a place where another leader was going to give a speech.

That other leader is Mr. Kharge, who is the president of a big political party called the Congress.

The cleaning ceremony made it seem like Mr. Kharge's visit made the place dirty, which is not true and is very unfair.

Mr. Kharge belongs to a group called Dalits.

Long ago in India, people were treated badly because of the family group they were born into.

Mr. Shivakumar says treating people this way is against the Constitution, which is the set of rules for the country.

He says everyone should be treated with equal respect no matter their family.

Another leader, Mr. Parameshwara, also said this kind of discrimination still happens in India.

Mr. Shivakumar asked everyone to stand together and say no to this unfairness.
