SEBI Plans Easier Digital Onboarding For Foreign Investors

SEBI Plans Easier Digital Onboarding For Foreign Investors

SEBI is working to make it easier for investors from other countries to invest in India.

It wants the sign-up process to happen more quickly online.

The process may also be adjusted based on how risky an investor is.

SEBI Chairperson Pandey explained this at an investment conference.

A program called SWAGAT-FI is designed for trusted, low-risk foreign investors.

About 205 foreign portfolio investors were already using it.

The program began operating on June 1, 2026.

The goal is to reduce unnecessary difficulty for foreign investors.
