Carrick Urges Manchester United to Boost Spending for Title Bid
Manchester United is a famous football club in England.
The team wants to win the English league title again.
They last won it in 2013.
Their coach, Michael Carrick, says the club needs more new players.
This summer United bought three players for about £85 million.
But rival clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea spent even more money.
Some fans are worried because even newly promoted teams spent more this summer.
Carrick thinks the team has the potential to achieve something special.
Star forward Marcus Rashford is back from Barcelona, who did not want to buy him.
United's first league game of the season is at Hull on August 22.
Michael Carrick urged Manchester United to push for more signings to keep pace with Premier League title rivals.
United have spent around £85 million ($114 million) on Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow since last season.
United's outlay is less than promoted sides Coventry and Ipswich, leaving some fans restless.
Carrick led United to a third-place finish last season after replacing the sacked Ruben Amorim.
Marcus Rashford is back at United after Barcelona declined their option to buy the 28-year-old forward.

Football First, Not Just Money
Carrick says 'money's money' and that it is still about the football; the club must make the most of its financial situation and keep pushing every boundary it can rather than match rivals' spending.
