HPCL's Visakh Refinery Boosts Energy Security
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders celebrated the opening of a new facility at the Visakh Refinery in Andhra Pradesh.
This facility, called the Residue Upgradation Facility (RUF), helps India use more of its own oil, making the country stronger in energy.
The project is part of a bigger plan to modernize the refinery and meet the fuel needs of the region.
It has some of the biggest reactors in the world and can process a lot of oil every year.
Leaders like PM Modi and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh thanked everyone involved and said this will help the country's economy grow.
HPCL's Residue Upgradation Facility (RUF) at Visakh Refinery was commissioned to boost India's energy security.
The facility has a capacity of 3.55 million metric tonnes per annum with a 93% conversion rate.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu praised the project for its role in achieving Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance).
The RUF is part of the Visakh Refinery Modernisation Project (VRMP) and features three of the world's heaviest reactors.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the facility's significance in India's journey towards energy security.
