Microsoft Edge for Android Now Supports Chrome Extensions
Imagine your phone's web browser is like a toolbox.
Before, the Microsoft Edge app on your phone only had a few tools in its box.
Now, with a new update, it can hold almost any tool that works with the Chrome browser on your computer!
To get these extra tools, you first need to get the special 'beta' version of the Edge app.
Then, you type a secret code into the address bar to turn on the feature.
After restarting the app, you can go to the extensions section and search for all sorts of new tools, like ones that make websites darker or help you save videos.
You can then add these tools to make your phone's web browsing much better and more useful.
Microsoft Edge for Android's beta version (v143) now allows installation of Chrome extensions.
This feature is not enabled by default and requires enabling a specific flag.
Users need to download the Edge Beta, access `edge://flags`, and enable the `edge-extensions-search` flag.
After restarting, a search bar in the Extensions section allows finding and installing extensions from the Chrome library.
This enhancement expands functionality with tools like VPNs, password managers, and dark mode options.
