CJP Demands 20-Year Ban for Turncoat Lawmakers

CJP Demands 20-Year Ban for Turncoat Lawmakers

The Cockroach Janta Party wants politicians who change parties after winning elections to face a very long ban.

Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal has suggested a 10-year ban.

The CJP wants an even tougher 20-year ban from elections and public jobs.

Its leaders say switching parties can break up political groups and bring down governments.

They also allege that some lawmakers may be offered money or pressured to switch sides.

The CJP says India’s current anti-defection law is too old and can be misused.

Congress has separately accused Amit Shah of trying to build a large majority for a delimitation Bill.

That Bill was defeated in the Lok Sabha on April 17, 2026.
