Mumbai Farm Milk Prices Set to Rise to Rs 110

Milk from farms in Mumbai is about to become more expensive.

The price increase starts on September 1.

The Bombay Milk Producers Association plans to charge wholesalers Rs 102 per litre instead of Rs 93.

That is an increase of Rs 9 per litre.

The association says farmers are paying more for animal feed and cattle care.

Stores and milk suppliers may pass this extra cost on to customers.

Directly delivered farm milk could cost as much as Rs 110 per litre.

Another milk cooperative, Gokul, recently raised its buffalo milk price in Mumbai and Pune to Rs 78 per litre.
