Early Detection of Pregnancy Hypertension Reduces Risks: Cama Hospital Study
Doctors in Mumbai found that catching high blood pressure early in pregnancy and keeping a close eye on it can help moms and babies stay healthy.
They looked at 30 pregnant women and saw that when they treated high blood pressure quickly, most moms and babies did well.
Many moms needed a special surgery called a cesarean to deliver their babies safely.
The babies were mostly healthy, even though some were smaller than usual.
The doctors said it's important for pregnant women to exercise safely, eat good food, and check their blood pressure often to prevent problems.
Early diagnosis and strict antenatal monitoring can significantly reduce complications from hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP).
Gestational hypertension was the most common diagnosis, followed by preeclampsia and eclampsia.
Cesarean section was performed in 86.7% of cases, highlighting the need for timely intervention.
Fetal outcomes were largely favorable, with no stillbirths or neonatal deaths reported.
Experts emphasize the importance of preventive care, lifestyle modification, and regular blood pressure monitoring.
