Bihar Targets One Crore Livelihoods, Prioritizes Local Products in Procurement

Bihar wants more people to find work by starting businesses or getting jobs in the state.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the goal is to create opportunities for one crore people by 2030.

The government plans to give preference to goods made in Bihar when it buys products, as long as they meet quality rules.

It also wants more local businesses to get a chance to work on government projects.

At a programme in Patna, about 7,000 people received instalments of financial help for their businesses.

The Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana can provide up to Rs 10 lakh to eligible applicants.

The government says growing small businesses and local production can help create jobs and reduce migration for work.

It encouraged entrepreneurs to list products on the Government e-Marketplace and take part in public procurement.
