Odisha Police Recover 110 Lost, Stolen Mobile Phones in Koraput
Police officers in Odisha, a state in India, did something wonderful for people who thought their phones were gone forever.
They found 110 lost or stolen mobile phones and gave them back to the people who owned them.
The officers worked on this for an entire month.
They searched many different places to find the phones.
They got help from a special tool called the CEIR portal, which is like a magic tracker for missing phones.
When someone put a new SIM card into a stolen phone, the portal told the police where to find it.
The police station in Jeypore found the most phones, 50 of them, and the station in Borigumma found 25 more.
The people who got their phones back were very happy and said thank you.
Police also reminded everyone to report a lost phone right away, because that makes it much easier to find.
Odisha Police recovered 110 lost and stolen mobile phones during a month-long special drive in Koraput district.
The devices were handed back to their rightful owners on Wednesday.
The operation involved four police stations under the Jeypore Sub-Division, following complaints from victims.
Jeypore Police Station recovered the most phones (50), while Borigumma Police Station recovered 25.
Recoveries were aided by the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, which alerts police when a new SIM is activated in a reported stolen handset.
