Afghan National Arrested With Allegedly Forged Indian IDs

Police in Siliguri arrested an Afghan national named Abdullah Khan.

They said he was trying to travel to Nepal using Indian identity documents.

The documents included an Aadhaar card, voter card, bank papers and a driving licence.

Police believe the documents may have been forged to make him appear to be an Indian citizen.

Khan had reportedly been living in India for a long time.

An Indian man named Shankar Banik was arrested with him.

Investigators are checking whether Banik or other people helped create or obtain the documents.

The article also mentions a separate Afghan national arrested in Kolkata earlier for allegedly overstaying his visa and using fake documents.
