FIRE Aspirations Grow as Indians Rethink Retirement Security

FIRE Aspirations Grow as Indians Rethink Retirement Security

Many Indians like the idea of becoming financially independent and stopping full-time work early.

This idea is called FIRE, which means Financial Independence, Retire Early.

However, wanting to retire early is different from having enough money to do it.

The study found that only 11% of people believe their savings will last for their whole retirement.

Starting to save when someone is young can make the goal easier because investments have more time to grow.

For example, a 25-year-old would need to save much less each month than someone who starts at 55.

Retirement money also needs to provide regular income after a person stops working.

Annuities can provide predictable payments, while other investments can offer flexibility and growth.

The study says many people know about pension products but have not yet invested in them.
