Mumbai Alert Sirens Uninstalled After Operation Sindoor
Imagine the government bought a bunch of loud sirens to warn people in emergencies, like if something bad was happening.
They bought 142 of these sirens after a scary event.
But, even though they got them a few months ago, 60 of these sirens in Mumbai haven't been set up yet!
The government wants to install them at locations like fire stations and government buildings.
The problem is, nobody has given the money needed to install them, which would cost around Rs 70-80 lakh.
So, even though the sirens are ready, they can't help anyone until they're set up.
The Maharashtra government purchased 142 emergency alert sirens after Operation Sindoor.
60 sirens designated for Mumbai are yet to be installed.
The delay is due to a lack of funds for installation.
The sirens were meant to be a part of civil defense measures.
The total cost of the sirens was Rs 63.47 lakh.
