Mumbai Lift Collapse Kills Security Guard
A security guard named Shailendra was working in a building in Mumbai.
One morning, the lift he was using suddenly fell down while the doors were open, and he got badly hurt.
He was taken to the hospital, but the doctors said he had died.
The police found out that the lift was not being taken care of properly by a company called Omega Elevators.
Two people from this company were blamed for not doing their job well, and the police are now investigating the matter.
The people living in the building had complained before about the lift not being safe, but nothing was done.
The lift had also caused an accident before where a worker died.
A 31-year-old security guard, Shailendra Ramkumar Saraswat, died after a lift collapsed on him in Mulund East, Mumbai.
Two employees of Omega Elevators, Sachin Suresh Mainkar and Sunil Gadshi, were booked for negligence under Sections 106(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act.
The incident occurred on October 5, 2025, at 7:30 AM, and the victim was declared dead on arrival at Veer Savarkar Hospital.
Residents had previously complained about the poor maintenance of the lift, and another worker had died in a similar incident two years ago.
