Supreme Court Seeks Reply on 2020 Chandigarh Riots Case

Supreme Court Seeks Reply on 2020 Chandigarh Riots Case

In 2020, people in Chandigarh protested higher electricity prices.

Some AAP leaders, including the Punjab chief minister, were accused of leading the protest.

The high court said there was no evidence that they incited violence and cancelled the case.

The Supreme Court, the highest court in India, now wants the leaders to explain why the case was cancelled.

It has sent notices to the chief minister and other AAP leaders to give their side of the story.
