Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Electrification Progresses
The Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is making good progress.
The government is putting up tall metal poles called OHE masts along the train tracks.
These poles will help supply electricity to the bullet train.
Over 20,000 of these poles will be installed, and they will be as tall as a four-story building.
This project is part of the 'Make in India' initiative, which means many parts are being made in India.
Once finished, the bullet train will make travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad much faster and better.
It will also create jobs and help the local economy.
The train will be the fastest in India, traveling up to 350 kmph, and the track will be the longest in the world at 353 kilometers.
Overhead electrification (OHE) masts are being installed for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train project under the 'Make in India' initiative.
More than 20,000 OHE masts, ranging from 9.5 to 14.5 meters in height, will be installed along the corridor.
The masts will support the 2×25 kV overhead traction power system, ensuring a reliable power supply for the bullet trains.
The project aims to reduce travel time, improve connectivity, and boost local economies and employment.
The installation of OHE masts is a critical step towards enabling electric traction for India’s first high-speed rail system.
