Mumbai’s Seven Lakes Reach 96.61% Capacity Amid Monsoon Showers

Mumbai gets much of its water from seven lakes.

On September 13, those lakes were almost completely full.

Together, they held 96.61% of their available water-storage capacity.

The lakes contained more than 1.39 trillion litres of useful water.

Vehar Lake was completely full.

Several lakes overflowed during heavy monsoon rain in July.

More rain was expected in Mumbai and nearby areas over the weekend.

This means the city had a strong water supply position at the time of the report.
