Maharashtra Creates AI Panel for Higher Education Governance
Maharashtra has created a group to help manage higher and technical education using artificial intelligence.
The group has 10 members and will be led by Rajnish Kamat.
It will study information about students, exams, scholarships and research.
This information will help officials make education decisions.
The group also plans to build dashboards that show important information quickly.
An early-warning system may help find mistakes or problems sooner.
The committee will consider privacy, cybersecurity and ethical use of AI.
It will meet at least once every three months and report its progress.
The state government will still make the final policy and financial decisions.
Maharashtra has formed a 10-member AI Data Analytics and Dashboard Governance Committee for higher and technical education.
Shivaji University Vice-Chancellor Rajnish Kamat will chair the committee, with Prashant Sinalkar serving as member secretary.
The panel will analyze data on enrolment, examinations, results, scholarships, affiliations, libraries and research publications.
It will develop dashboards and early-warning systems to identify errors, irregularities and other issues.
The committee will address cybersecurity, personal-data protection and AI ethics during its initial three-year term.
