Kamal Haasan Enters Parliament, Joins DMK Alliance
Kamal Haasan, a famous actor, is now a politician in India.
He started his own party, MNM, a few years ago.
MNM wanted to be different from the main political parties in Tamil Nadu.
After not doing very well in some elections, MNM joined up with a bigger party, DMK.
Because of this, Kamal Haasan was given a special job in the government, becoming a Member of Parliament.
This helps his party, MNM, get more attention and have a say in what happens in the country.
Kamal Haasan, actor and politician, has taken oath as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
He founded the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party in 2018, initially positioning it as an alternative to existing Dravidian parties.
MNM joined the DMK-led alliance in March 2024 before the general elections.
Haasan was offered a Rajya Sabha seat as part of the alliance, which he accepted.
His entry into Parliament is seen as a strategic move to give MNM a foothold in national discourse.
