Pregnant Defence Ministry Officer Found Dead; Husband, In-Laws Booked
Nazia Khanam was a 30-year-old government officer who worked for the Ministry of Defence.
She was found dead at the home she shared with her husband in Delhi.
Reports said she was pregnant.
Her husband told police that they had argued and that she later hanged herself.
Nazia’s family does not believe this explanation.
They allege that her husband and his family mistreated and hurt her.
The family also alleged that her death was made to look like a suicide.

Thirty-year-old Ministry of Defence Assistant Section Officer Nazia Khanam was found hanging at her rented Delhi home on August 21.
Police received a call about an alleged suicide at 4:21 p.m. in the Bharthal village area of Dwarka Sector 23.
Nazia’s husband, Mohd. Azam Ali Khan, told police they argued before she locked him in another room and hanged herself with a dupatta.
Her family alleges that her husband and in-laws harassed, belittled and beat her, and claims her death was staged as a suicide.
Police registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 85 and 108 and are examining statements and other evidence.
