Sikkim MP urges AAI to resume Pakyong airport operations

Sikkim MP urges AAI to resume Pakyong airport operations

Indra Hang Subba, the MP from Sikkim, has asked the Airports Authority of India to quickly fix the Pakyong airport so that flights can start again.

The airport has been closed for almost two years because of landslides and slope problems.

Subba met with the AAI chairman to ask for help in making the airport safe and operational again.

He also suggested that the government give special financial help to make flights from Pakyong more attractive to airlines.

The airport is very important for Sikkim because it helps people travel and supports the local economy.

Right now, the nearest airport is Bagdogra, which is quite far away.
