Sinhgad School Staff Protest Over Pending Salaries
Teachers and staff at Sinhgad Institute’s Spring Dale Public School in Pune are very upset because they haven’t been paid their salaries for a very long time.
Some say they haven’t been paid for 36 months, which includes during the Covid-19 pandemic and up until now in 2024.
They protested outside the school to ask for their money.
Parents of students also joined the protest because they paid a lot of money for their children’s education, but the school closed suddenly.
The school management promised to pay the salaries and reopen the school, but the staff and parents are still worried.
The government is looking into the problem to help solve it.
Teachers and staff at Sinhgad Institute’s Spring Dale Public School protested over non-payment of salaries for up to 36 months.
Around 6,000 employees across various Sinhgad institutes are affected, with 20 months of salary pending from the Covid-19 pandemic and 16 months since 2024.
Staff allege that the management has threatened termination without clearing dues and that complaints to authorities have gone unaddressed.
Parents joined the protest after the school closed abruptly, having paid significant fees for their children's education.
The school management assured parents that the school would reopen and staff would receive their pending salaries, but the issue remains unresolved.
