BJP Reopens Old Cases in West Bengal

BJP Reopens Old Cases in West Bengal

The BJP government in West Bengal is reopening old cases of violence and crime, including the 2021 post-poll violence, a 2025 bomb blast that killed a 13-year-old girl, and the 2024 RG Kar Medical College rape and murder.

The BJP says they are doing this to bring justice to victims and expose past cover-ups.

However, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) thinks the BJP is just targeting the Opposition.

The BJP has made many arrests and suspended some police officers.

The TMC questions why some cases are not being pursued, suggesting the BJP is being selective for political reasons.
