Air India Faces Regulatory Scrutiny Over Safety Violations
Air India is facing scrutiny from the government for breaking rules.
The aviation safety team, the DGCA, found issues and gave the airline warnings.
Some problems came up after Air India joined with Vistara, caused by new software.
The government has also been checking all airlines, not just Air India, to make sure flying is safe.
This is partly due to an Air India crash in Ahmedabad.
Airlines must follow rules to avoid penalties.
DGCA issued four show-cause notices to Air India due to 29 violations.
Systemic issues emerged after the Vistara-Air India merger.
The DGCA conducted 171 regulatory audits from 2020 to June 2025.
Two turbulence incidents and 10 emergency landings due to technical issues were reported since January 2024.
Comprehensive Special Audits were ordered following the Air India crash in Ahmedabad.
