Chandni Chowk Town Hall Redevelopment Estimated At Rs 225 Crore

Chandni Chowk Town Hall Redevelopment Estimated At Rs 225 Crore

Delhi plans to redevelop the old Town Hall complex in Chandni Chowk.

The project is expected to cost Rs 225 crore.

Two government bodies signed an agreement to help organize and carry out the work.

The area includes the Town Hall, a Press Building and a park.

The complex was built between 1860 and 1866 and was once used as the civic body’s headquarters.

Much of it has been mostly empty since the headquarters moved in 2010.

The new plan could include museums, galleries, shops, heritage stays and places for performances.

Officials say the project is meant to protect the building’s history while making it useful for residents and tourists.
