Google Launches Gemini 3.8 Flash Models With Cybersecurity Tools
Google has released two new artificial-intelligence models called Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber.
The regular Flash model is designed to help with coding, engineering and difficult reasoning problems.
Google says it can take extra steps and repeatedly use tools to improve its answers.
It is intended to remain fast and relatively inexpensive.
Its introductory price is the same as Gemini 3.7 Flash.
The Cyber version is built to find software weaknesses and help fix them automatically.
It is offered only to governments and trusted cybersecurity partners.
Google says the models have protections against harmful cyber activity and dangerous chemical or biological uses.
Google also says they are better at resisting prompt-injection attacks.
Google launched Gemini 3.8 Flash weeks after Gemini 3.7 Flash, marking its third Flash release in six weeks.
Gemini 3.8 Flash targets software engineering, agentic tasks and complex multi-step reasoning while retaining the previous model’s introductory pricing.
The model costs $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens.
Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber is designed for vulnerability detection and automated patching and is restricted to governments and trusted defenders.
Google says the models include safeguards against cyber offense, CBRN misuse and prompt injection, while Flash Cyber uses more permissive cyber mitigations.
