Godavari Floods Submerge Chilli Crops, Disrupt Traffic in Mulugu

The Godavari River has risen and flooded parts of Mulugu district.

Water covered about 1,000 acres of chilli farms.

The flooded farms stretch across nearly 20 kilometres.

Cars and other vehicles faced problems on National Highway 163.

People in nearby villages have used boats to get food and other necessities.

Some operators joined two boats together to cross strong currents.

Officials warned people living in low-lying areas.

The river was also flowing through the Medigadda Lakshmi Barrage with all its gates open.

The flooding has started to slowly decrease.
