MFIN expects microfinance portfolio to grow 15% in FY27

MFIN expects microfinance portfolio to grow 15% in FY27

Microfinance is when companies give small loans to people who do not have a lot of money.

In India, a group called MFIN watches over these small-loan companies.

MFIN's leader says the amount of money given out as loans will grow by 15% next year.

This is good news because the industry was getting smaller for a long time.

Before, some people borrowed from too many companies at once, which caused problems.

MFIN made rules to stop that, and now almost all borrowers follow the rules.

Most people are paying back their loans on time, which makes the loans safer.

Regular banks are giving fewer micro-loans, but special microfinance companies are giving more.

Small loan companies are worried because they have not received much of the government's promised help.

Floods in Assam could hurt farmers, so people there can get up to six extra months to pay back loans.
