English Literature Graduate Arrested for Chennai Hostel iPhone Theft

A woman named Santhoshini lives in a city in India.

She studied English Literature in college.

Police say she took a very expensive phone — an iPhone — from a house where women live.

The phone belonged to one of the women living there.

When the phone went missing, the women who lived there became suspicious.

A young woman had visited them saying she wanted a job.

When she came back again on Tuesday, the women recognized her.

They asked her questions and held on to her until police arrived.

Police arrested her and are investigating the theft.

Now everyone in the neighborhood is talking about what happened.
