RBI measures may attract $80-85 billion inflows
The Reserve Bank of India has taken some special steps to bring more money into the country.
A report from the State Bank of India says these steps could bring in $80-85 billion.
This money comes from different types of deposits, like FCNR(B), OFCB, and ECB.
The RBI Governor said that banks have already brought in about $32 billion.
This extra money is expected to help India's balance of payments and reduce the current account deficit.
The report also says that most of the existing deposits that are about to expire will likely be renewed, bringing in even more money.
RBI's forex measures could attract $80-85 billion in inflows.
FCNR(B) deposits are projected to be $65-70 billion.
As of July 17, banks had garnered $20.72 billion in total inflows.
The balance of payment is expected to be in surplus of more than $50 billion for FY27.
The current account deficit is projected to be 1.0-1.2% of GDP for FY27.
