AkzoNobel Exits India Decorative Paints, Retains Coatings Royalty
AkzoNobel, a paint company, is changing how it does business in India.
They're selling their decorative paints business to JSW Paints for a large sum of money.
Even though they are selling off the decorative paint segment, they will continue to earn money through royalties for their coatings technology, getting 4.5% of JSW's sales.
This is part of a bigger plan to change AkzoNobel's business in Asia.
AkzoNobel is also looking at doing similar things in other countries in Southeast Asia where they are not leading the market.
