Bombay High Court Approves Tata Power’s 220 KV Line Upgrade

The Bombay High Court allowed Tata Power to improve an old electricity line.

The line runs between Kalwa and Kalyan and supplies electricity to areas including Mumbai and Thane.

Its capacity will increase from 110 KV to 220 KV.

Tata Power will replace 87 old towers with stronger towers.

The new towers will be built where the old towers already stand.

The company says no mangrove trees will be cut.

Some other forest trees may be felled, and the company must plant thousands of new saplings.

Tata Power must also report on the environmental work twice a year for 10 years.
