Vultures guide new batch during soft release at Pench
Scientists and forest officials released 13 vultures into the wild at Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra.
These vultures were raised in captivity and trained to live on their own.
Earlier released vultures were seen helping and feeding with the new ones, which is a good sign.
The vultures have special trackers so scientists can follow them.
More releases are planned in other places soon.
One vulture is still getting medical help and will be released later.
13 critically endangered vultures were released at Pench Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra.
The release included 8 White-rumped Vultures and 5 Long-billed Vultures.
Earlier released vultures were observed interacting and feeding with the new batch.
All released vultures are fitted with GPS transmitters for monitoring.
Future releases are planned for Melghat and Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserves.
