Gujarat Adds 500 Janrakshak Vehicles to Expand Emergency Response
Gujarat has added 500 special vehicles to help police respond to emergencies faster.
The state now has 1,000 Janrakshak vehicles working all day and night.
People can use the emergency number 112 to ask for help.
This service connects police, ambulances, fire services, disaster management and helplines.
A large call centre helps send the nearest vehicle to people who need assistance.

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi flagged off 500 additional 112-Janrakshak vehicles in Gandhinagar.
The additions bring Gujarat’s total Janrakshak police-response fleet to 1,000 vehicles operating around the clock.
A 150-seat call centre, Computer Aided Dispatch system and caller-location technology have reduced average response time to 10 minutes and 49 seconds.
Authorities aim to reduce the average police response time to below eight minutes with the new vehicles and technology.
The integrated 112 service has handled more than 11.04 lakh emergency calls and assisted in over 6.74 lakh police emergencies within 11 months.
